Encapsulate the time
Published: 6 November 2022
Encapsulate time is to gather what passes through our lives, what slips through our hands. Light, shadow, texture, silence, and emotions. To hold it still, if only for a moment longer. Each image becomes a time capsule not yet lost, a fragment of the present preserved just before it fades into the past.
In this act of holding on, image-making becomes more than documentation, it becomes a legacy and a memory for the next generation. A quiet testimony left for the future, echoing not only what was, but how it once felt to be there.
"Photography is about capturing an image in the moment, knowing it needs to be processed. It is carefully manipulated, modified, and developed in the darkroom or, nowadays, with digital tools. For me, photographic representation is light and the absence of light, which requires careful handling and reflection. In this process, there is a seeming contradiction: approaching reality, an enclosed eternity, through an exposure of a hundredth of a second. These images become time capsules, preserving emotions and memories."
